School Administrators and Supervisors
When improving processes, it is important to create metrics and utilize data to make decisions. This course will introduce basic statistical concepts for data analysis and root cause analysis tools commonly used in critical thinking and problem solving. Tools to develop and analyze possible solutions are also included. The course is designed to be interactive, so each person or group should bring a small problem or issue to apply the principles learned in the seminar. Excel is utilized for analysis, so bring a laptop if available. A limited number of laptops are available for use during the class.

About the Presenter:
Karen Brodbeck has been involved in Continuous Improvement and Statistical Analysis for over 20 years. She received her Six Sigma Master Black Belt training while at Navistar where she worked for 12 years. In her tenure at Navistar, she also served as an Environmental Chemist, Quality Engineer and Quality Manager for the Paint Division in addition to her Master Black Belt position.
The last 18 years have been spent consulting where she has trained students in all levels of problem solving including Basic Problem Solving, Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt. In addition, she facilitates process improvement projects. She recently worked with Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center in developing their Program Evaluation. Karen has worked with over 150 companies across North and South America.
In addition to her consulting, Karen serves as Adjunct Faculty for the Wright State Pharmacoloy/Toxicology Department teaching Lean Six Sigma as a part their leadership track.
Karen's work has taken her into many types of industries including utilities, service organizations, healthcare, education, financial, government and manufacturing.
Karen has a B.S. in Chemistry Education and a M.S. in Manufacturing Management.
