Youth Connections
Welcome to Youth Connections
Youth Connections is the Clark County ESC's online education program designed for those who are seeking an alternative to the typical classroom setting, or needing an opportunity to take additional coursework for a variety of reasons. Students who participate in Youth Connections continue to be enrolled with their home school district, and may continue to attend their school while taking online classes through the Youth Connections program.
What is Youth Connections?
The Clark County ESC Youth Connections is an alternative educational program that serves all of the public school districts in Clark County.
How do I enroll?
If a student wishes to apply to be enrolled at the Clark County ESC Youth Connections, they should see their school counselor or principal.
Highlights of Youth Connections
Students who maintain all of the following standards are not required to attend a classroom:
Classes are aligned with the Ohio Department of Education Course Content Standards.
The curriculum offered is competency-based, not seat-time.
Each student is able to work at his or her own individual pace.
Majority of the coursework is completed on the computer.
Student Success Coaching Model implemented by Instructors.
Flexible One on One intervention supports individual student needs.
Who Do We Serve?
Clark County ESC Youth Connections targets students who are:
Disconnected from school due to non-attendance or an inability to succeed in a regular school setting
Unable to attend in person due to health or medical concerns
Lacking credits for his or her age group
Deficient in the areas emphasized in the Year End Exam Under expulsion for non-violent reasons
In 7th – 12th Grade (will consider primary grade levels on a case by case basis)
